Tasting Notes – Donatus White

Name: Donatus White
Producer: Dornier Wines
Region: Western Cape, South Africa
Grape Varieties: 74% Chenin Blanc,  26% Semillon
Overall Rating:  
Pairing: Summer squash and sausage hash.  This was easy drinking, so I could have a glass while preparing dinner, but the oak aging gives it enough body to stand up to the flavorful sausage. 


Color: Straw

Brightness: Hazy/Bright

Intensity: Moderate
Age: Youthful/Some Age/Aged
Scent:  Honey and/or honeysuckle

Dry/Sweet: Dry
Body: Medium
Acidity: Fresh/Smooth
Flavors: More pear and a bit floral.  Also, a hint of vanilla.
